Health Team Workshop - Save the ChildrenSAVE THE CHILDREN
Jo provided extremely high quality support to design and deliver a two day team workshop. She worked to tight deadlines to put together an excellent programme and was extremely helpful in thinking through what would be achievable in the time we had available.
Jo then did a fantastic job of facilitating the workshop that responded to the needs of the team really well – they all evaluated the time together extremely highly, particularly commenting on the high quality of the facilitation.
The days were very participatory and Jo managed to pitch the exercises and sessions perfectly so that the team remained engaged and felt able to be open during the various exercises. We managed to cover a huge amount of ground and the workshop really moved the team forward – meeting our objectives and expectations for the day.
We have already booked Jo for another session in the middle of the year!

Jo delivered an excellent workshop for five team members at SCUK. I was thoroughly impressed by the planning and organisation of the workshop and also how Jo tailored the workshop and ensured the engagement of the team. The workshop helped us to understand how building upon the skills of team members will help us to build the cohesiveness of the team.
I have no doubt in recommending Jo as a facilitator for similar exercises.

I just wanted to say thank you very much for all you did last Tuesday at our away day. I could write realms about how you really listened to what I wanted to get out of the day and nailed it, but I thought you’d much prefer to hear from the team on what they thought so here’s a couple of emails people sent me after the day.
“I found the training really interesting and it was quite liberating to feel like others understand the way you work better, and vice versa. I thought the activities Jo put together were really thought provoking and fun, too.”
“It was really interesting to build on my previous work with Insights in a much deeper, more applicable way. I really enjoyed how passionate Jo was about her work, and that fed through into my enjoyment of the session. I found the ways to identify other colour energies so interesting and useful, and it’ll really inform my work going forwards.”
Thank you from us all in the Philanthropy & Corporate Partnerships Team at Dogs Trust.

Jo and Tara provided excellent support in helping define what we wanted to achieve in a two-day session. They then worked to provide a programme that responded to the needs of our team exceptionally well, using the ‘Insights’ tool and a range of other highly participatory and engaging games and conversations about providing feedback, negotiating skills, managing conflict and so on. The feedback from the team on both days was nothing short of effusive. We’re already planning a follow up session later in the year.

The session was exceptionally well prepared and allowed us to get through a remarkable amount of work and discussion in just half a day. What impressed me most was Jo and Adrian’s ability to move seamlessly and swiftly from each topic area, allowing for sufficient reflection and discussion, but without ever making a session feel rushed. They found an excellent balance between introducing concepts, individual or paired discussion with group work so the team were completely engaged throughout. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

Phoenix were excellent! They really took time out to understand the nuances of what we were trying to achieve, and produced a workshop that met our objectives exactly. The trainer was highly knowledgeable and made the session interactive and fun – most importantly the team learned new relationship building and communication skills that they are applying to their work on a daily basis. I couldn’t be more pleased with the session Jo ran with the team.
From our first discussions through to the end of the session, it really felt that Jo understood what I wanted to achieve with the team and created a bespoke session to facilitate this.
I was anxious that, in advance of a particularly busy time for the team and having had a few personnel additions, we engaged with the vital components of a high performing team by building trust, understanding how we (as individuals) work under pressure and encouraging feedback to create a stronger, more open team.
Since the session, the feedback I have had from the team has been very positive. We all agree that the exercises were constructed in an imaginative and fun way, with the day structured in a way that meant the more ‘difficult’ activities took place once an open and supportive atmosphere had been created.
I can’t thank Jo enough for her time and effort in creating such a worthwhile day, alongside her infectious and motivating energy while she was with us. We are already putting what we’ve learnt into practice and I am excited to see how the results benefit our team in the coming months.”

We were running a first team day for the newly formed Strategic Marketing team, so asked Phoenix to run a 90 minute team building session using Insights discovery. They delivered a fast paced, fun session which helped us appreciate the different colour energies, and understand the impact we can have on others. We realised the importance of adapting our behaviours to improve communication and team effectiveness. Each colour energy came up with ways they could help the group be “One Team.” Those with dominant Red or Yellow energy really noticed how they need to listen more to their dominant Green and Blue energy colleagues. It has given us a language we can use back at the office. A great way to kick off our team journey.

In Dec 2005 I was promoted to a senior role within my company, which involved team leadership responsibilities for a team of 12 category managers. Prior to this I had only 2 years Line Management experience under my belt managing 1 direct report. Therefore I took the opportunity to get some professional coaching from Jo.
The coaching took place on a one to one basis for circa. 2 hours at a time, which meant it was very interactive and gave me the opportunity to shape the content and delivery. This was important as it really allowed Jo and I tailor the coaching to my specific needs, the role I was in and the culture of my company. Significant emphasis was placed upon my ‘Insights’ type and the behaviours and preferences I demonstrate as a result of this. This really provided an excellent learning platform for me to start from as it made me recognise how I`m perceived and how my behaviours impacts others. Once I understood this I learnt the importance of observation and how I could identify and recognise ‘Insight’ behaviours of those individuals in my team.
An element of the coaching & mentoring focussed on the differences between a leader and a manager, something which I had never considered before. Once I recognised the difference I was in a better place to start making the transition. Some of the techniques we covered included; giving and receiving feedback, motivating others and the art of delegation. In order to embed these learnings we used role plays as a means of practise and rehearsal. In addition we would re-visit any areas I was uncomfortable with, which underlined the flexibility of the coaching. The role play technique became invaluable as I was encouraged to plan and rehearse real life examples of management situations I was about to undertake with my staff. I found these exercises elevated my confidence ahead of the event and helped to allay any fears I had. Another key element of the coaching was that it encouraged me to find the answers myself. Again this significantly increased my confidence as I discovered that I already had a lot of the answers and that I just hadn’t put myself in a place to tap into them before.
I found the coaching time really allowed me to air my frustrations and fears regarding being new to a leadership role. It was only due to the relaxed yet professional nature of the trainer that made me feel comfortable to do so. I found Jo Wright to be an outstanding coach, largely due to her boundless passion and inspiring attitude. I would highly recommend her coaching services to anyone new to managing others or even those whom have several years’ experience.
Following the completion of my coaching, I know I have developed into a stronger manger and team leader. Indeed this was recognised by my company as within a year I received a recognition award for team leadership.

Phoenix has delivered fantastic training for the whole media team here. I’m always impressed with the quality of both the content and the style of training they deliver – adapting to the needs of all those taking part.
Due to the nature of our annual cycle the media team here grows for a six month period of the year, presenting a real challenge in team building and ensuring the best possible performance in a short period of time. The sessions with Phoenix helped us quickly gain greater insight and understanding of each other, how to get the best from each other and how to work as a strong, collaborative and high performing team.
They also helped us to develop practical tools and tactics to ensure greater communication, problem solving, creativity and trust throughout the months ahead. The sessions are also a huge amount of fun and we were all left feeling enthused and excited to get on and deliver great results together.

Jo ran a superb training session for my sales team at UB. She managed to engage the whole group in the session and got an excellent level of participation from all delegates. As a result of the session, the individual members of the team understood each other much better and this led to much better working relationships. I would endorse Jo’s credentials as a coach and facilitator, and would not hesitate to use her again.
Team Development with Insights Discovery
UnLtd has been pleased to work with Jo Wright and her team to explore Insights as a really effective way of building a better understanding of our preferred working styles and particular strengths.
Initially Insights was used with UnLtd trustees and Executive team and all participants were delighted with the expert facilitation and powerful analysis.
We then took the decision to roll out the Insights programme to all our teams. Sometimes the results are surprising and always participants become aware of why colleagues act in a particular way. It is a such an effective way of building teams and Jo provides just the right balance of challenge and imaginative activity to prompt some deep discussions.
